The Brian A. Kelley Memorial Scholarship

For Bradford Area High School Seniors

The Brian A. Kelley Memorial Scholarship is a $1,000 award presented by the Kelley Family Charitable Foundation. Brian's legacy is defined by his extraordinary compassion and generosity, which touched numerous lives in his community through countless acts of kindness. He was passionate about supporting local youth sports and was proud to be an alumnus of Bradford High School.

When Brian experienced his first heart attack, our community rallied around him, understanding that the road to recovery would be long and challenging. Despite his remarkable resilience, he was later diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Although he fought with unwavering courage, he ultimately succumbed to the disease.

In tribute to Brian’s determined spirit and selflessness, we established the Brian A. Kelley Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship honors Brian’s memory by recognizing individuals who embody strength, kindness, and a commitment to serving their community, inspiring others to follow in his footsteps.

The Donald Kelley Memorial Scholarship

The Donald Kelley Memorial Scholarship, a $1,000 award presented by the Kelley Family Charitable Foundation, honors the enduring legacy of Donald Kelley. The Kelley Family Charitable Foundation was established to create a brighter future for all, one act of kindness at a time, inspired by the life of Donald Kelley.

The Donald Kelley Memorial Scholarship honors a man who served as the beloved patriarch of the Kelley family. Donnie's life was the very inspiration for the Kelley Family Charitable Foundation's guiding slogan, "kindness is our compass." A loving father and grandfather, he showered his loved ones not only with time and affection but also with an abundance of laughter, creating cherished memories. Kindness truly guided his every action, and he was exceptionally generous with his time for those around him. Donnie had a remarkable ability to brighten any room he entered with his warm presence. Furthermore, he possessed a gift for lending a listening ear and offering sound advice to those in need. An avid and talented crafter, he delighted in gifting his creations to family and friends, and his passion extended to his beautiful garden. His dedication to service extended beyond his family and community; Donnie was a proud Army veteran who rose through the ranks to Military Police, demonstrating his commitment and leadership. This remarkable man once wrote in his journal, "kindness costs so little and its rewards cannot be measured," a sentiment his family strives to live by daily.

 This scholarship seeks to recognize an individual who embodies the spirit of Donnie demonstrating a commitment to kindness and working to create a brighter future for all, one act of kindness at a time. The recipient will be someone who lives their life with kindness as their compass, reflecting the values cherished by the Kelley family.

The Suzanne Kelley Memorial Scholarship

The Suzanne Kelley Memorial Scholarship, a $1,000 award presented by the Kelley Family Charitable Foundation, honors the enduring legacy of Suzanne Kelley. Inspired by her life, the Kelley Family Charitable Foundation was established to cultivate a brighter future for all, one act of kindness at a time.

 Suzanne Kelley was the heart of her family, a loving mother and grandmother who showered them with boundless love, time, and affection. Suzanne lived by the principle that kindness is the key to a life well-lived, a belief demonstrated through her consistent respect for others and her readiness to help anyone in need at every opportunity. Suzanne was an avid crafter and talented homemade candymaker – skills she generously shared with loved ones and the community. Suzanne left a lasting impact on all who knew her through her compassionate actions and generous spirit.

 This scholarship seeks to recognize an individual who embodies the spirit of Suzanne by demonstrating a commitment to kindness and working to create a brighter future for all, one act of kindness at a time. The recipient will be someone who lives their life with kindness as their compass, reflecting the values cherished by the Kelley family.

The Collette Whitney Memorial Scholarship

For Fort Ann Central School & Corinth Central High School Seniors

The Collette Whitney Memorial Scholarship is $1,000 award and is presented on behalf of the Kelley Family Charitable Foundation. When Collette found out that her cancer diagnosis had spread, she had one wish; to act with kindness for the rest of her days as she had her entire life. Collette spent her career in the medical field providing top quality care to her patients. Collette lived her life with a true spirit of kindness guiding her way. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who passed her gentle love and kindness to all that she met. Collette also had an affinity for taking photos. A hobby that she truly loved. This scholarship should go to a student who exemplifies the spirit of kindness. Students should apply if they feel that they demonstrate kindness in all aspects of their lives, as Collette did throughout all of her days.
